« The Regain Project (REducing the Greenhouse Effect through Alternative Industrial Estates Management in North-West Europe) is an initiative by four public bodies that manage business parks and two centres of expertise, supported by the European Union within the framework of the Interreg programme.
The aim is to promote energy efficiency in industrial buildings by constructing pilot buildings.
The project began in 2008 and will end in December 2012 with a seminar involving all the partners. It has enabled progress to be made in the way the construction, refurbishment and management of sustainable buildings are planned, and has resulted in a better understanding of the legal, technical, financial and organisational problems of ‘greening’ the construction industry, as well as ways of overcoming them.
